BLOOM
Hello ..
Welcome to MAY.
The month everything starts rising—sap, skirts, expectations.
.. and the start of our UNGUILTY journey.
Each month I will choose a word.
A Spark.
A prompt or provocation if you will … to explore and also as a foundation for our stories, shop, secret indulgences and studio.
This month’s word (our first), is
Spring has officially sprung (subject to the weather), and so has the blossom in your local park.
Some early, some late, some defiantly stubborn in their budding.
Which is exactly the point.
Our Unguilty BLOOM is not akin to the polished Chelsea Flower Show kind.
It is recognising the beauty in the untamed, unpredictable, who-gave-you-permission-but-I’m-doing-it-anyway bloom.
Like me. Like you. Like most people.
Untamed, still growing, all unique.
All gorgeous.
If only we can see that we are the only people who are truly in charge of tending to our own growth.
FLOWERS, this month’s story, is a reminder that opening up doesn’t need to be tidy.
Unfolding is often messy.
As it should be.
Petals drop. Water spills.
You forget you ordered them (midlife in full effect) and suddenly there’s a knock at the door ... surprise, you’ve sent yourself something delicious.
Unexpected extras.
Delivering above and beyond.
With an Unguilty naughty twist of course.
Exuberant and exciting.
And why not?
You’re allowed to want more. To grow crooked.
To burst into colour in a world that told you to stay beige.
BLOOM is the gift you give yourself.
It’s a rebellion. A regrowth (in a good way)
We’re all still growing. Still unfolding.
Still figuring out what part of us gets the light ... and what we’re finally done pruning.
Hope lives here, tangled up with desire.
And you, my love, are not late to bloom.
You’re right on cue.
Welcome to Unguilty.
Because being good is overrated.
